Everything reaches the same small team, but a few details up front usually save a round of emails.
Group tours & field trips
Tour slots are held by hand, so ring (217) 735-7399 if your date is close. Tell us your preferred date and arrival time, how many are coming, the ages or grade levels, and whether you are arriving by motor coach.
Research appointments
The Lincoln Collection, the Letters from the Presidents and the Lincoln College Archives are consulted by appointment, Monday to Friday. Describe your research topic and the materials or dates you would like to see, so staff can have them ready rather than searching while you wait.
Gifts & donations
Financial gifts are arranged directly with museum staff by phone or email. If you are offering an object — a document, photograph or artifact — please describe it and its history before sending anything; the museum cannot accept unsolicited items through the post.
Volunteering, internships & press
Volunteers are welcome Tuesday to Saturday — mention the days you are free and whether you would rather work with visitors or behind the scenes. Students should say which internship and which semester. Press and filming enquiries should include your deadline.
Museum staff aim to reply within three business days. The museum is closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays, so a message sent over a long weekend will be picked up on the next open day.
