School field trips
The museum becomes a very large classroom.
Field trips consist of an educational scavenger hunt for younger learners, a guided tour, lessons on character development, an opportunity to view and to hold actual historical artifacts, and nineteenth-century games. Students interact with history while holding real items from Lincoln’s era; learn how to apply character lessons to their lives; and learn to play double-can bean-bag to keep them excited and engaged.
During the guided tour, students walk through nineteenth-century room recreations while learning about the events that shaped Abraham Lincoln into the man admired today. Each room represents a unique and important moment in his life — and students are encouraged to reach out and touch the objects along the way.
